Our Beginning
Mercy Tabernacle was established and founded on January 13, 2013. With a heart after God Pastor Woodrow and Co-Pastor Deborah Vereen along with their 5 children, two daughters-in-law, grandchildren, church mother, Mother Hattie Stevenson, Betty Smith, Tony and Tina Maurice the church began.
God has called us to preach and teach the truth of His Word without fear and compromise that souls might come to the knowledge of the truth. We pray that those that know the Lord personally and intimately will endure until the end.
Mercy Tabernacle is a place where the Spirit of the Lord dwells and lives are transformed. As we enter into the Tabernacle we come in with open ears and receptive hearts to receive God's word that we would live.
We express our gratitude and were elated for those who joined us on our Grand Opening. We believe your presence was by divine appointment. We trust that you enjoyed the worship experience and extend an invitation for you to fellowship with us again.
Always remember to give God daily praise, glory, honor and thanksgiving for His Love, Grace, Mercy and Favor towards you.
Bishop John C. White
Pastor Woodrow & Co-Pastor Deborah Vereen
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.
There is One God, eternally existent in three Persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (I John 5:7) We believe in the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ at His return.
(1 Thess. 4:16)
We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance. (I John 1:9) (Romans 10:8-10). Faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, (Hebrews 9:22) and being baptized in water. (Matthew 28:19)
We believe in the ministry of reconciliation (II Corinthians 5).
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing. (Isaiah 53:5) and (I Peter 2:24)
We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost is given to believers who ask in faith. We baptize in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19) (Acts 2:4)
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a Holy and separated life. (Romans 12:1) (1 Tim 4:5)
We believe the Holy Spirit who dwells within you will lead and guide you into all truth. (John 16)
We believe that salvation is by Grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph. 2:8)
We believe that the great commission is for us today. (Matthew 28)
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved shall inherit eternal life and those that are without Christ shall suffer eternal damnation. (Ro. 6:23)
We believe in the importance of the Lord’s Supper and emphasize that all believers should examine himself to see if he is worthy to partake or not. (I Corinthians 11:28)
We believe in the sanctity of life, celibacy for singles, sacredness of marriage between husband and wife.
(Genesis 3, I Corinthians 7
)
We believe in the five fold ministry, for the purpose of equipping the church and bringing the body of Christ into a place of maturity. (Ephesians 4:1-11)
We believe in the ministry and presence of angels, the reality of the devil and demonic forces and the legitimacy and necessity for spiritual warfare over the nations, cities, families and individuals. (Psalm 34:7) (Ephesians 6)
We believe that Jesus Christ has called both men and women to the ministry of God’s work. (Galatians 3:26-29).
We are a tithe and offering paying church. (Old Testament scriptures: Genesis 14:20, Leviticus 27:30 Numbers 18; Malachi 3:10)
Bible says that there will ALWAYS BE SEEDTIME AND HARVEST (Gen 8:22)
New Testament: Matthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42, Jesus referred to tithing as something that should not be neglected. We sow and we shall also reap. If we give it will be given back to us good measure, pressed down and shaken together. Luke 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:7
We are admonished to be cheerful givers. (Galatians 6)
Our mission is to preach and teach the truth of God’s Word to all without compromising the Word of God that souls might be saved and healed.
Our mission is to share the good news in season and out of season. Jesus Christ, is the Son of God; that He is the way, the truth and the life. The only way to the Father is by him.
Our mission is to teach the importance of family, faith, prayer, love, forgiveness, “God’s Mercy” tithe and offering and living a lifestyle of Holiness. Our mission is to inspire and encourage each person to believe in themselves as they allow God to bring to fruition the plan he has for their lives.
Our mission is to help each individual, by providing a supportive, nurturing church that will strengthen and build up the entire man. (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual). We are our brothers keeper.
Our mission is to lead by example. We will serve God first, our family, church and then the community.
